Young man who has just completed his training as an honest to god farrier lands a summer job at a dude ranch. He explains to his grandfather this will give him great work experience. In addition to shoeing horses, they will teach him to ride. Also he is to participate in what the ranch refers to as the Show -- which is LARPing intended to give city slicker tourists staying on the ranch experience of the life there.

His grandfather says the young man explained how he is preparing for this new experience far from home: 

He bought two harmonicas.

Perhaps your young gentleman will become a virtuoso, and there will be a worthy home for at least the one I remember the most clearly.
